TWO: Oooooh, that a fritty pic-ter, ONE.
ONE: Thanks. It’s you and me and our baby in heaven.
TWO: That pic-ter for me?
ONE: No, it’s for me.
TWO: Oh. Why?
ONE: Well, I’m drawing this picture of you because when I grow up I’ll never see you small again. And I want to remember you small.

Me too, my little loves. Me too.

Just so freaking sweet.
It’s reading things like this that makes me want to have baby girls. Not that boys can’t be sweet, they surely surely can. They just don’t seem to have the same vision as little girls.
And then we grow up. And nothing much changes. Men and nostalgia? Not quite so tangible.
I love that the baby’s head is in the shape of a heart. Too sweet.
Way too sweet!!
How I love the innocence of children. So very much! :)
Are you sure ONE is only 5? Wow! I LOVE your girls ck!!!
Oh my. That is the sweetest thing ever.
So cute! you must be doing something right :)
Ah, sisters. They are so thoughtful and sweet when they aren’t plotting to kill each other, aren’t they?
Beautiful.
I am seriously wiping a tear away. This is so precious. So simply beautiful! I don’t know them but please give One and Two a squeeze for me. They made my day!
Oh. That took my breath away. I’m so glad you wrote it down and preserved it.
Children seriously say the cutest stuff.
Awww….
I don’t think she could actually *be* any sweeter than that!! How adorable! :)
I think this is a moment that reflects on your excellent parenting. This means that you also have GOOD Mommy Moments. : )
Just another example of why I like this sweet Amber girl.
(I’ve had the Pearl Jam song in my head all day. Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away…)
:)
This is the sweetest thing I’ve heard all week…it just made my day!
that is the sweetest thing ever!
Ok, I have tears. I can’t decide what’s the best part: the conversation, the drawing, or the picture. My boys are never that swet to each other.
ONE is wiser than her years.
I love the black and white photo! Yes, girls can say some pretty sweet things…boys can be just as awesome, like having your 17 yr old son give you a hug everytime he sees you (after being at his dad’s for the week) and telling you he loves you, everytime you end a conversation, even on his cell when he is with his friends, that is sweet!
This is so sweet.
I agree with Melani. Girls can say some pretty sweet things…but I have some pretty sweet boys!
Seriously, ck, if only we lived closer… it would be quite the day between our four :)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes life is just perfect.
very cute and sweet baby
That is too freaking cute! Glad to hear they’re getting along again (or at least for a brief moment). :)
oh how precious. i love how pure their little hearts are.
I will have an award waiting for you on my morning post!
cry cry cry
That almost made me put down my glass of wine and contemplate having my own TWO….then I poured another glass:) You’re girls are so sweet….pat yourself on the back.
Oh!! That ONE of yours is brilliant. Very sweet post, with that heart-aching capability that all your posts have.
That pretty much pegged the kid cuteness meter.
Been a little while for me, but love the new look and greetings from Bangladesh.
Hate replying to myself, but a lack of an edit button requires it.
If the title of this post is an allusion to a Pearl Jam song, you’re my new favorite blogger.
You mean this song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paQOO0KnLGA Yeah, I’ve been singing it all week.
But Bangladesh! I’m so behind on blogs I didn’t even realize you were there. I’ll have to go catch up.
I’m a huge PJ fan and that song fits so incredibly perfectly for this post.
Haven’t really written about my adventure here yet. Been in India for almost a month and then had to come here day before yesterday, I think. Coming home soon and plan on posting more when I’m not so busy.
ck, I replied to your qs. on my post, but then realized you would probably never come back to check for an answer. So…I think I live somewhere around where you live :)
And hey, since I am a new convert to wordpress, can someone help me out with how to update one’s blogroll? I can’t seem to add any of my fav. blogs there.
Awww….love it. So sweet.
Beautiful post…thank you for highlighting one of parenting precious moments!
That is so very sweet in so many ways!! You are very lucky, CK.
Sweet,,,,wiping a tear……….sniff sniff.
So very sweet! Kids! They get me every time. Both of these pictures are so very special.
My son is eight now but still has a picture on his bedroom wall that his sister colored to welcome him home from the hospital when he was born. :)
Sweet, lovely girls… and what a perfect picture. It’s a keeper!
So sweet…see they do love eachother!! What a moment to remember always!! xoC
((sob))
So stinking sweet…
I love it! You have some sweet girls.
Insert goosebumps now. How frickin sweet.
“Well, I’m drawing this picture of you because when I grow up I’ll never see you small again. And I want to remember you small.” Oy…I just melted inside.
I have two nieces, ages 10 and 7, and I currently live across the country from them (which makes my heart ache because I miss my nieces to pieces)…but I totally relate to you and ONE, because I want to remember my nieces being small. I don’t get to go home often, but every time I do go back to visit, they’ve grown another inch and seem less and less like the little girls I remember. It’s bittersweet…I love seeing the amazing little people they are becoming, but I also hate that I’m missing them grow up. I remember when my nieces were your kids’ ages and then I went to college and blinked and……
*sigh* It happens too quickly.
But this is a beautiful post nonetheless. And I love that THREE is heart-shaped. :)
