Are you an overwhelmed, guilt-ridden mom? Are you secretly counting down the hours until bedtime? Are you completely ignoring your child to read the description of this book? Don’t worry – you’re not alone.
Welcome to Bad Mommy Moments: those short periods of time (that feel like eternities) when you do something “bad” that will haunt you for the rest of the day. Or week. Or forever.
Using a humorous compilation of prose, poetry, photography, and graphics, blogger Cindy Kane tracks the two-year storm of new motherhood through the mind of a woman who struggled to adjust. That is, until she traded in her dreams of perfect parenting for finding ways to laugh. At herself. And in laughter, she found unexpected hope.
Bad Mommy Moments celebrates the days of new motherhood that SUCK. Because it’s often after our worst moments that we realize how lucky we are.
Unbiased, totally reliable book reviews:
I read your book today and truly enjoyed your writing, “dry” sense of humor, wonderful story lines and your openness about sensitive personal issues/matters. A great job for your first book. I’m very proud of you.

Motherhood is not easy. There are times when we wonder if we will survive it. CK brings heartfelt emotion, vulnerability and the ability to laugh at herself. She can take you from belly laughing to tears without warning, all the while being totally able to relate to her as a wife, friend, daughter, as well as a mother. I would recommend this book to all moms.

This book is amazing!! I am so happy I read it after becoming a mom, it is like you are inside my head! One of my favorite parts was the bath chapter….no lotion, I don’t care if your skin is so dry, it falls off!! LOL. I have DEF been there myself! Thank you for putting into beautiful words what we moms can’t (all because these kids steal our brains!!!) Thank you for sharing with me! xoxo

Between the dashed expectations of your birth plan and the realization that your post-baby body should have come with a set of instructions, BAD MOMMY MOMENTS captures all the highlights (and lowlights) of the early days of motherhood.
As a new mother myself, I appreciated the escape Cindy Kane’s vignettes and creative graphics provided and took comfort in finding that I wasn’t alone in experiencing laughter and tears all in the same day. I only hope I handle my own Moments with as much humor, grace and insight as Kane does.
(Also, I’d like to keep the double-Ds.)
